Make one thing every day, wander like a gypsy, and shine happiness like the sun

The birth of Venus

on September 22, 2012

I found this beautiful chrysalis in my garden last week attached to a drying sprig of peppermint.  As the forecast was for high winds and a tornado warning, I hurried her inside to my sunny, warm bathroom, where she morphed in blissful slumber.  I raptly watched her every day while getting ready for work.  And now I am again reassured that love is as perennial as the grass.  I was hoping to get her emerging from the chrysalis, but missed it by a few minutes.  I’ve named her Venus. (Not actually sure if she’s a girl.) Butterflies are beautiful 🙂ImageImageImageImageImageImage
