Make one thing every day, wander like a gypsy, and shine happiness like the sun

Sprites…No scary monsters

I’ve been saving ideas for this little project, but rather than post about the storm or raptors, I thought it apt to post about Halloween.  My daughters created the pumpkins, and they actually still have all 10 digits.  My very patient dog has been through many iterations of costume-we’re calling this one Hoo-dee-knee.  And the black cat was a quick project to accompany a Halloween costume-one day I’ll post on all the ami cats I’ve done.  May your loot bags never be empty, your candy always stay dry, and your spoils remain untouched by older siblings. (That’s my Irish style Halloween prayer).  Goodnight!ImageImageImageImageImage

Old friends

I love old things-toys, books, pictures, linens, quilts.  It’s a little brain vacation to imagine who played, worked, read, or wore things that are approaching the century mark. One caveat, the old stuffed pink dog is closer to the half century mark, as is the baby who loved it 😉ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Nesting instinct

I love the industriousness of birds and the cozy nests they build.  I’ve made patchwork and amigurumi birds, but none compares to the real thing.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

I’m not the queen in this kingdom

This is part of the gnome village in my garden.  I wouldn’t even attempt to be royalty in a world where I really know so little.Image

The Little Melon That Could

This site was cleared over a year ago for new construction that’s now on hold.  I think he came from a construction worker’s discarded lunch.  I’ve been watching him grow for a few weeks and built a little rock barrier around him.  That a lowly melon can persevere and thrive in harsh, inhospitable conditions is kind of inspiring.ImageImage
