She asks for so little

on March 11, 2013

At the behest of my truest and oldest friend, I’m saddling up to the stool to type a meager post.  Probably no surprise that the long winter is chilling my spirit.  Anyhow- my daughter begged to keep this bonsai in her room and promised to care for it better than her hamster (who also died).  I snuck it and all it’s dead leaves out of her room to the plant infirmary (aka southeast facing laundry room window) and have been willing it to come back to life.  Maybe it’s my muse, as the little leaves are slowing pushing out of the dead branches.ImageImageImageImage

  1. Its a Fukien Tea bonsai and they are hardy and very resilient to adverse conditions. It should come back just fine. It will have new leaves and lots of little white flowers all over it in several weeks.

Thank you so much! I was wondering what it was and just soo excited that it seemed to be reviving! My current bonsai project is pomegranate trees-I saw them in a bonsai display at a craft fair and I have about a dozen little trees going. Have a “green” day !:)
