My day job takes me outside to beautiful trails and parks. My new best friend and I (Canon Power Shot) like to capture glimpses of life behind the leafy curtain.
The birth of Venus
I found this beautiful chrysalis in my garden last week attached to a drying sprig of peppermint. As the forecast was for high winds and a tornado warning, I hurried her inside to my sunny, warm bathroom, where she morphed in blissful slumber. I raptly watched her every day while getting ready for work. And now I am again reassured that love is as perennial as the grass. I was hoping to get her emerging from the chrysalis, but missed it by a few minutes. I’ve named her Venus. (Not actually sure if she’s a girl.) Butterflies are beautiful 🙂
Fun with bugs
I know it’s been a while. Yes, I realize it’s easier to take pictures of things rather than actually make them. Not to detract from photography as an art and skill, but in terms of the effort involved, definitely easier.
Blue Moon
August 31st was a blue moon-the next won’t be til 2015 unless…. you have too much yarn and a long car ride back from a Labor Day outing. If I need a once in a blue moon wish, I merely have to step out onto the deck. This spider hanging out nearby is wishing for dinner-the camera flash had him amply rewarded.
